Jesus Loves Us!

Joan Betts dedicated this painting to a few people: Dr. John Perkins, a pioneer of the civil rights movement, Garrette Hall, and Soul Celebration Choir.  The idea for Joan’s painting was inspired by the Holy Spirit during worship at the evening service at Water of Life Church in Fontana, CA a year ago.

How You Hear

Is what I hear more important than how I hear?  In the time we live there is so much information, and it can be difficult to know what is actually truthful. Isn’t it important that we are careful what we listen to?  These days I find myself constantly on guard over what I hear or see.  While the Scripture does teach us to guard our hearts, Jesus seemingly says something different emphasizing how we hear. After the The Parable of the Sower in Luke 8:5-15, Jesus in the first part of Luke 8:18 tells us “Take heed therefore  how ye hear…”. What did he mean by how? Did he mean what we hear or maybe where we heard it from? This can often be what we tend to focus on. The Greek word how can also carry in its root meaning in what way, how much, & after (by) what manner.  The root of the word also implies what locality & where.  So while what, how much, and where can be bundled up and implied in the Greek word of how, when it comes to hearing the things (word) of God – Jesus definitively said “how” and He is actually concerned over the condition of the heart which defines how we hear. In the parable, the seed is the word and all heard the word. The condition of the heart is the key and led the hearers to either ultimately lose what they seemed to have or “…in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.”  You could ask “how” is my heart?  I want to encourage you to spend time with the Lord and let the Holy Spirit search and cleanse your heart, so that “how” you hear is with an honest and good heart.  “Take heed therefore how you hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.   Luke 8:18      “How” is your hearing?           Rev Dave […]

The Work of the Ministry

Ephesians 4:11-12

And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.”

When our Timothy II team was first forming, a portion of scripture that was highlighted to Timothy was that the Timothy II ministry is […]

Celebrating 29 Years!

This February, Timothy II celebrates its 29th Anniversary. As I think back on the sovereign Call of God on Timothy II, some of the prophetic words about this work, and the many miracles that God wrought, I am in awe.

One of the prophetic words that we received early on was about us going out and meeting with Governors and Leaders […]
